The Young Medusa Altar Doll is a plant spirit doll created to be a centrepiece or doll to hold space for many people. She was inspired by the innocence of Medusa’s own origin story before she was turned into a monster. I have created Medusa as a loving and caring protector for the vulnerable wearing her familiar the Snake on her dress. Around her wrists are bells woven on recycled sari cords. Over her third eye is a pearl of wisdom and her hair is woven from black wool blended with rainbow fibre. She is a very large and solid doll and filled with nettle, mugwort and copal. She is needle felted from Corriedale wool and she was made by hand with love.
