Hello future dollmakers, I am so happy to be finally offering this work online after 8 years deep in the forest creating spirit dolls. The familiar, spirit doll, medicine doll, healing doll - there are many names for the magical doll companion. Companion? Your companion. She is your familiar. With each doll we are making and healing the child within as well as connecting back to our wise grandmothers. The ancient practice of making slowly by hand helps us to access wisdom, intuition and ancestral memory of wool, textiles, herbs, amulets, talisman and sigils. The Sacred Familiar is the magical twin. On this journey together we will make a healing pilgrimage to meet the mythical dollmaker that lives in the ancestral memory and healing the witch wound. We are not just coming to learn how to needlefelt a doll, we will be creating a spirit doll to be a vessel and bridge for the ancestors. I will share stories of doll magic, pilgrimage, folklore, herblore as well as techniques and practices to deepen connection to intuition and the wisdom of your grandmothers.
Course Engagement
There will be one live class on the first day of the course and recorded for anyone who can’t join live. You will then have 3 months to work through the lessons at your own pace.
All lessons and videos are held within the course and there are 2 downloads at the end of the course. The course will be accessed through our website portal with passwords and the material will be available for a 3 month period. The class portal will then close and disappear into the ether.
Course Lessons:
There are 9 Lessons that follow the theme of a pilgrimage. These lessons contain practical pre-recorded videos, tarot readings and writing exploring each archetype. You will have a total of 3 months to deepen and practice your dollmaking skills.
You can create at your own pace and rhythm over a 3 month period.
Along with practical dollmaking videos I will share teachings, readings and journeys that will help to assist you on an etheric pilgrimage to rediscover your personal magic, creativity and intuitive process.
Materials and Supplies:
You will need to gather your supplies before we begin and once you enrol you will receive a welcome email with the list of materials needed. Needle felting supplies should cost around $100 depending on how many dolls you wish to create and I suggest buying locally and as soon as you can to be ready to begin.
