She Carries the Medicine Spirit Doll
She Carries the Medicine is one of the small group of plant spirit dolls completed at the Spring Equinox. She was created to honour the spirits that take care of the plants and the herbs on pilgrimage. She wears a cloak made from a scrap of pure wool tweed that I gathered on pilgrimage in the Hebrides and around her neck she wears a tiny glass vial filled with the seeds of the Milk Thistle plant. Her hair is woven from very rare Soay wool from the ancestral and rare breed sheep from the Outer Hebrides. She is filled with Jasmin flowers that are in full bloom in our garden in lutruwita / Tasmania and she was made by hand with love.
