SACRED FAMILIAR ONLINE SPIRIT DOLL COURSE

An online course discovering the folk tradition of the spirit doll and needle felting with dollmaker & creator of Sacred Familiar, Julia Inglis.

There will be one live 1 hour class on the first day of the course that will be recorded for anyone who can’t join live.

The course is made up on 9 Lessons - portals to creativity with practical videos, recorded journeys, storytelling, and tarot readings to help you meet your inner dollmaker in an etheric online pilgrimage back to the ancestral craft of dollmaking.

Firstly I want to let you know that you need no previous experience for this course. The course is a combination of a live class with Julia, practical videos, recorded journeys, written material and photographs.

This is a journey not only into the practical teachings of how to make needle felted spirit dolls but also a virtual pilgrimage to understand the path of the doll maker and the healing that is needed for us to begin to access the ancestral wisdom of this ancient craft and medicine. We will be focused on healing the ‘witch scar’ an ancestral memory of the need to hide or fear the natural magic and intuition we all possess and the healing that can take affect when we create with loving intention.

The familiar, spirit doll, medicine doll, healing doll - there are many names for the magical doll companion. Companion? Your companion. They are your familiars. With each doll we are making and healing the child within as well as connecting back to our wise grandmothers. The ancient practice of making slowly by hand is helps us to access wisdom, intuition and ancestral memory of wool, textiles, herbs, amulets, talisman and sigils. The Sacred Familiar is the magical twin. On this journey you will make a healing pilgrimage to meet the mythical dollmaker that lives in the ancestral memory, we are not just coming to learn how to needlefelt a doll, we will be creating a spirit doll to be a vessel and bridge for the ancestors. I will share stories of doll magic, pilgrimage, folklore, herblore as well as techniques and practices to deepen connection to intuition and the wisdom of your grandmothers.

In this course we will create a series of dolls as little bridges to the ancestors through practical videos, written instruction, photographs and recorded meditations and journeys.
