This week felt so light after two weeks of wild storms and heavy rains. I couldn't help but feel the invitation from the trees to leave everything behind and walk, look and gather. Here are some photos taken on our foraging journeys, gathering plant medicines to place in our dolls and medicine bundles for healing. Wherever you are I hope this helps you to feel the green and nourishing love of the earth.

Winter's Return with Plant Medicine

Redwood Circle Hello everyone, you may have noticed it's been a bit quiet here of late especially over Autumn. I felt a strong desire to be in the forest as much as I could - watching and learning. At the start of winter I decided to move our site to Wordpress and that has been an enormous learning curve and I still only feel like I'm at the base of that mountain, please hang in there with us as I try to get this site looking a lot greener and organic! So what have I been doing in the forest exactly? Learning about plants and trees and watching how they are changing in every week. It's really phenomenal in Sherbrooke Forest at the moment. This forest is really an Autumn and Winter world. Or maybe that's just my own perception but it does seem to have the largest and widest collection of mushrooms that I have ever seen.

We also have a new member of our family - Fox! He is a Shetland Sheepdog or 'sheltie' and he looks like a fox and he feels like a fox and so he is called Fox. Here he is on the weekend helping me to gather gumnuts. He looks pretty focussed and I think he can't quite believe the turnaround in events after leaving the dog shelter. We are so glad you have brought your golden magic to our world, Sir Fox.

This week I am preparing for our plant medicine doll workshop where we will work with the spirit of 9 sacred trees and make a Winter Soul Mate medicine doll and write down her medicine story. Here are some photos that I've taken in Sherbrooke Forest over the last 2 months. Can you guess the trees that will make up the sacred nine?

Platypus Dreaming at Olinda Falls

Well we have almost finished packing and our new home in Sherbrooke Forest calls to us daily, nightly...in our dreams. We have received messages and signs from the King Parrot and Magpie about wisdom to learn and share from that magical green world. A day ago we journeyed up to Olinda Falls and sat with the spirits of the land. We sat and meditated by the waterfall and I felt such a strong urge to thank. As I was thanking the water, the rocks, the trees, the aboriginal ancestors of this majestic land, I was taken to a cave in the mountain. Tony was greeted by the breath of Mother Earth, a swirling circle of energy that whispered: welcome.
We will be opening our doors on Saturday 9th February on the eve of the New Moon and Year of the Snake with new offerings of ceremony and sessions that we have received over our 'hermiting'. Last year I received the clear message that all we truly need is our body and the land. We look forward to holding sacred space for you to experience the majesty of Mother Mountain.

Can you see the giant platypus in the stone by the waterfall?
Whenever I come to this forest I can feel the spirit of the 'megafauna' the ancient and huge animals that used to live here. I just read that caves often act as 'time capsules' preserving fossil remains of ancient life. To the left of the platypus is the small cave I was being directed to in my meditation.
